A condition characterized by dilation of multiple small blood vessels in the kidney. Cause of the problem is fully understood. Pembroke Welsh corgis are more predisposed to the disease than other breeds. Cases are highest among dogs between 5-13 years old. Dilation of blood vessels causes formation of red-black nodules in the kidneys leading to hydronephrosis and abdominal pain. The problem has not been known to progress to renal failure.
