It is a type of tumor characterized by overgrowth of sebaceous gland cells and prevalent among middle aged or older animals. This is actually due to the buildup of sebum resulting in the formation of cysts. Almost all cases are benign and can be treated successfully by surgical removal. Occurrence of malignant types is very rare. These benign tumors are often mistaken for warts by pet owners.
